Breaux Bridge Celebrating 150 Years
Mayor Jack Dale Delhomme, State Representative Fred Mills and the Breaux Bridge Area Chamber of Commerce unveiled the design of the Street Banner for the commeration of the city’s sesquicentennial celebration in 2009. One Hundred and fifty banners sponsored by local and statewide businesses and families will fly in and around the city center as the year long slate of events and festivities kicks off this month.
At the unveiling Mayor Delhomme commented “this is significant milestone in the history of our small town and a time to look back and take pride in our city, to celebrate our history, our heritage and our people.
In presented the banner design, Chad Theriot, 2009 Chamber of Commerce President encouraged all chamber members and families to join in being a part of making history by participating in the sponsorship of the Street Banner Campaign. “this commemoration will give us a window of opportunity to show ourselves off to the world, not only as the Crawfish Capital of the World, but how we have grown to be a desirable place to live and grow a family and a business.”
